Bound and Rebound #104
Bound and rebound.
Think about a fun time when you were watching a movie with someone who makes you smile.
This is one memory that you can share with me while you continue to think about yours.
It involves a bouncing sheep that happily goes along in life until it is swooped up and sheared by a passing farmer.
Suddenly, the sheep is shivering and pink instead of fluffy, warm in its white wool.
Unaware of what could lay ahead and needing a time to bound and rebound with some help from another passerby.
That is where we will go now.
Are you ready? Let’s do this, my friends.
Perhaps you are on to me by now and know that this sheep is in the Pixar short. You can go down memory lane with me and start to bound and rebound in your mind.
This one is about being yourself and loving yourself no matter what comes next.
The little sheep in this short film was now up for a daunting task to figure out who to become next and how to be a sheep with no fluff and stuff.
The story continues with help from a new friend.
Along came a jackalope that helped with some simple questions and things to think about.
My mope around because of what happened?
Slap down that foot and let’s get going with a new dance, little sheep.
Create steps to bound and rebound.
Then a simple jaunty song comes into play that creates steps to bound and rebound to get going with goals and what is to come next.
I love that a friend is the one who helps to bring a new view.
Let’s keep this dance going, shall we?
Think about the one you may have watched a movie with that makes you smile.
Do you have them fixed in your mind?
Get their sweet or salty grin in your view. Is there also a glint of mischief? Or does calm come with your memory?
Do you also hear a belly laugh or a slight silent giggle that comes with a shoulder shrug with their smile?
One last step to your recall is about your reaction to this smile. Do you smile back, shake your head to their shenanigans or feel warmth and joy all right in front of you?
Beautiful.
Now think about a time when you may have come up against a task of starting again with this person that makes you smile.
Have you done that?
Did you need to bound and rebound with them and get the smile going again?
I have done this one, two or more times with one, two or more people who make me smile after I have sat in the silence to learn what the moments have to tell me.
What have I learned?
Get going again, let my best friend be right there with me to bound and rebound.
Hold hands loosely while watching the next movie.
No time to mope as there is always something to create next.
And then, like it says in this short film, slap down my foot as this world is full of ups and downs.
These are the lines that make me smile to this day.
Now is the time to create what can come, again and again.
Who is ready?
