Do You See What I See? #120
Do You See What I See?
I love to go out at dawn all year long to watch the sunrise.
Did I hear you chortle and laugh as I said that?
Well, it is the truth and I do love to tell some truths so do you see what I see?
There are mornings that I have told myself not to look up because I need to get to work at a certain time.
Do you know what happens next?
The sun will start to peek up over the mountains so there is no stopping my eyes.
It’s as if my peepers have a mind of their own.
Which of course I choose I follow every time!
The view is often full of wonders.
The view is often full of wonders as I look up.
Here is what I saw one morning and was able to pause for one moment in the brisk air.
Check it out. Do you see what I see?
Look to the right of the tree outline and above the first row of bright clouds.
I see a chick. Yes! A small bird with an open beak.
Did you make a small chirping sound? So did I when I first saw it standing right there above the morning mountains!
It made me smile and be in the present moment with gratitude.
If you don’t see if, perhaps give yourself a minute and look for another shape in these winter clouds.
There are colors coming to life that remind me of orange sherbet ice cream and deep dark chocolate.
A bit of black licorice and then white icing is beginning to pop into view, as well.
Shapes are also coming into view that could include a heart.
This is something I have learned to do over many years.
I recently heard this about clouds.
“The air up there in the clouds is very pure and fine, bracing and delicious. And why shouldn’t it be?- it is the same the angels breathe.”
– Mark Twain
Do you see what I see about clouds being part of why I look up at sunrise?
This may be why my heart and soul are also drawn to the fluff and stuff in the sky.
I’ll take it every time, my friends.
There is another thing I see.
There is another thing that I see at sunrise when I pay attention to where my eyes go at the first of the day.
Even when I’m standing at dawn with the breath making a little cloud at each exhale, I begin to see my day with a bit more clarity.
This can only happen after I have looked up, with that pause as the shapes and colors start to appear.
Why is that?
The first thought that came to me is this.
Colors and shapes help me remember these three pieces of art.
As our son used markers, crayons and paint to create these pictures, I now watch for ways that I can gather items to make something. That can include these colors in the clouds.
Somehow, when I find clarity within myself it brings more to almost every part of that day and the ones that follow.
It seems to always amaze me how this piece of being mindful can serve so many aspects of my life.
Can it be there for others?
Here is what I have learned as I continue to see what I see.
Shapes and colors are here for us to create what we need them to be.
Those colors can come from the sky, pictures on my wall and even more.
Shaping what I feel may be the next quest for this time of year with my breath forming the next cloud in front of me.
Do you see what I see when I talk about the feelings that can come?
Let me share a bit more.
Feelings of joy, gratitude and yearning all come to me as I look up to see the sherbet falling into the morning view with that little chick that made me smile.
My quest will continue this winter and into the new year.
Look at what your view brings to you and come with me, my friends.
As always, you can see into my mind and heart. Thank you!
Our hearts are here together, always! Thank You!
