Show Your Emotion #129
Show Your Emotion
Picture this with me, if you can.
I call you after a late night of walking up and down the streets in a city known for parades, beads and incredible food.
You’re never going to believe what happened, I say, as I send a picture of this pink hat. Stay tuned for the story that is coming next.
That is the start of what happened in a city that never sleeps and is indeed known for its incredible food.
There is a well-known Mardi Gras celebration coming up in this city, in fact. Think about what you know and come with me to explore more.
I needed to show more emotion.
New Orleans is the city I was able to visit. While walking down the streets one night I was given a ticket because I needed to show more emotions.
How’s that for getting the attention of others?
It was hilarious and at first, I thought the people in the group were serious.
Can you receive a ticket for being content?
I soon found out they were not serious, but they sure thought I was too calm for the occasion.
The sudden interaction brought all of us walking down the cobblestone a new way of looking up and being more mindful of where we were.
Relax and have some fun while you’re here, they said.
You may wonder what else that changed in me. It’s not like being content or calm are a bad way to be in life and yet is there more?
Getting this pink hat is part of the fun that continued to happen that night. Showing it here with you is another way to keep those moments going.
More ways to show my emotions.
I began to wonder if there are more ways to show my emotions.
Turns out there are few ways to look at emotions.
Emotions have flowed over me, including being calm, content and more.
I can go into a few directions from here to show your emotions, along with mine.
How about we dance along with three ways for an easy dance step? The 3 acts in life continue.
Emotions can be indicators that something important is happening.
Have you felt this?
Great! Let’s begin with how energized I became after receiving that make-believe ticket with friends in New Orleans.
Energy brought a light step and more smiles to the night. Dancing came along with live music in the street.
The late night came to an end after finding this hat and the food I got to eat.
Both were wonderful ways to keep energized.
Being playful is another way to show your emotion.
How about being playful as another way to show your emotion.
M’hm. This is one that we go with often in our family.
It is a way to find your groove and create more smiles all along the way.
As you think about ways that this can look in your realm let me share how it came to be in our world.
One time we had a rambunctious set of games going on on our north lawn with a group of friends and family.
There was food out for everyone and then a large net was set up for anyone who wanted to show their skills.
Did the laughter get louder as the rules changed bit by bit?
You betcha!
Were there moments that players changed roles and then everyone who could fit on the lawn rolled with the day?
Yes!
This is the emotion I will invite into every life.
My friends, this is the emotion that I will invite into life every time there is an opportunity.
How about you? Is there time to play and become playful at every stage and age in life?
Let’s hope so and then make it so.
Now for the third and nowhere near the final way to show your emotions.
I have found that the full range is meant to be felt so this is a sampling. Yet we can take it as a good step into feeling the feels.
It’s as if they are the friends who have your back as you look behind you.
Here is the path we can end with today.
Being chill as you show your emotion is the way this month is leading me.
Well, being chill, relaxed and going with the flow is how I am going this month.
What does that feel like?
It actually takes me back to how I was at the time of walking down the street in New Orleans many years ago.
Full circle as I now know that I am able to feel relaxed and know who I am at my core while also feeling grand moments of energy.
The entire range of being able to show my emotions is where I am now as I continue to learn more.
What a fun place this 3rd act is going to be!
Love it…and I am just beginning to learn the ways to show emotion or to change my emotions. It is quite a trip and a journey for me.
There are such a range of emotions! I love the book from Brene’ Brown to begin to roam in this arena as well as a mood meter to continue getting curious with. Love ya!
