Trees Began to Whisper #179

Trees Began to Whisper
Listen and Silent have the same letters.
Some say that is a coincidence.
Others say that is how we can hear what may need to be said without any words.
I think that it is when we can listen to what else may be said, perhaps when we are still.
This quote is one that gives me more to think about as I go along this trail.
The trees began to whisper and the wind began to roll in the wild. March morning I heard them calm my soul. Alfred Lord Tennyson.
Trails are where I go to find the trees and wind that often tell me more.
Think about your favorite place to go as I tell you what happened recently in life.
One of my favorite places is around our home.
I have some space around our house where we have created trails alongside trees.
The trees have grown to create tall pockets of green where we can sit in the shade to talk about our days that have been and those that are yet to come.
As I have sat near the trees with others the wind has rolled over seating areas and around our conversations.
It’s as if the trees have begun to whisper with us.
It’s as if the trees have begun to whisper with us, adding to the conversation.
The time spent under trees has always brought me calm.
Did the trees know that their needles and leaves were able to bring that to each in the group?
Only this week did I notice that a small group of trees were starting to pop with buds again.
While it seems too early this year, I welcome the signs of new growth.
March has come in like a lion, as the saying goes, so when I saw these coming forward it felt like hope coming to my heart.
There may be signs coming to you in poems or quotes that bring you to when the trees begin to whisper.
Have you found that favorite place to go to yet?
Here are a few more for me as I think about bringing calm to my soul.
Take a look at this picture.
If you look beyond the bright green buds, you will also see the bright blue sky.
It was crisp and clear. There was a light breeze that felt invigorating while in the sunshine.
Do you feel the need to rub your hands together because the March morning can also bring a note of chill if you stand still too long?
Trees were going to start whispering on this day.
That’s how you knew the trees were going to start whispering on this day.
I stood back to feel all of this as the moments stretched before me.
Being silent can tell me many things when I wait for what is coming next.
Here is what I now know.
While I do not get to choose what comes, I get to be there for the person I am with.
Choosing to look up at the shire green buds.
Noticing the steps to take with a person.
Looking for joy while becoming what is needed in this space.
Knowing that even while I roll with each day it may be a wild ride.
What does your favorite place tell you?
Listen to the trees as they whisper. We can both look for the calm they bring.
