Send Me an Angel #234

Angel with sunshine

Send Me an Angel

A record came out when I was about 14 years old. Yes, a vinyl that I played on my new record player with tall speakers.

These sat on either side and allowed me to play the music as loud as I wanted to each day.

This record had a new song at the time that would float out of my end of the house.

Send me an angel by Real Life was on one side of the 45 and the song that I listened to over and over again.

As we go into flow with this memory, let’s start with how the music begins.

There is a pop of the keyboard that gives us a reminder of the notes that will come next.

The unique signature of this song.

It’s the unique signature of this song.

A quick indicator to my mind and soul to get ready to move.

No, not only move but to dance!

This is what the signature rhythm of the song does in the first moments.

It continually fascinates me the speed that this happens and I love it.

My toes automatically tap tap tap with the song and the smile on my face!

The drums come next, after the keyboard is rolling at a steady beat.

Now, let’s talk about drums.

Drums are the thing that keep not only the beat and rhythm but the flow of the song.

That’s when my body finds the step in the song and when the lyrics are heard better.

I looked at ways to find new angels around me.

As I looked at ways to find new angels around me.

The beat of the drum becomes the indicator for me when I pause or change my two steps into a longer rolling step in the dance.

Two steps are also when I keep dreaming.

This song is when I learned to start dreaming when I was that young person.

Dreaming and dancing came together when I was younger and they’ve stayed together since then.

What did that look like as a teenager?

It started by being brave and learning how to make new friends in class as life expanded.

Looking forward to what may happen if life rolled along in certain directions.

Would I climb mountains to be a forest ranger?

Could a dream take me to another climate to learn about the world?

Was there a way that my earliest dream could come into play by going back to being a ninja?

Being brave, trying a new dance step and looking up is what the song by Real Life brought me then and still brings me now.

There is one more part of this song that I remember each time I hear that keyboard and drums begin.

The ongoing joy and smiles that are with the lyrics get me every time.

I’ll tell you that anything about an angel will pull me in with a smile that tugs at my heart and again, my soul.

My heart and soul are tied together for eternity.

It seems that my heart and soul are tied together for ever and eternity.

Like the sunshine looking for way through the leaves, a glimmer that pops up like the music in life.

Coming together like us, my friends.

Eternity is where the angel in my life now waits for me. Our angel, the tall one, pulls me forward to the eternities with such resilience, grace, and joy along with the grief after child loss.

That is why I won’t give up along with the ongoing questions.

Including my question that has led me to the current dance I’m learning.

The trick is it doesn’t come with an easy 45 that I can play on the record player.

Can I send myself to the next dance, the next level even when the music changes over the years?

Even when the dreams grow or more is needed or must be altered?

This complexity has come to me since the first time I heard this song, yet it still brings me an immediate toe tapping reaction.

Perhaps that is my answer for now.

I now know that yes, I can be ready for the dance that is before me as changes are constant and as I look up for what dreams are ready for me at this time of life.

Can that be what we do together?

Find what angels are with you and let’s move into a rhythm that is meant for each of us.
